Global Event Calendar

A unified event management service designed by Dzamling Gar, for the entire International Dzogchen Community.

What is Global Event Calendar?

The Global Event Calendar is an API service — a backend system that stores, organizes, and provides access to event data. Think of it as the central database and engine that powers event calendars across the community.

Centralized Service

One system that stores all event information for the entire community.

Multi-Organization

Supports all Gars, Lings, and community groups independently.

API-Based

Designed to work with multiple client applications seamlessly.

Open for Integration

Third-party applications can connect and display events.

  • Each organization manages its own events
  • Global administrators can oversee all organizations

Events that span multiple days with different sessions.

Benefits for the Community

Why the Global Event Calendar matters for the International Dzogchen Community.

Unified Calendar

No more fragmented event information spread across websites, emails, and social media. One system provides a complete view of community activities.

Single Source of Truth

When event details change, the update happens once and reflects everywhere. No more conflicting information across different platforms.

Data Ownership

The community controls its own event data. Unlike third-party calendar services, this system is built and maintained for the IDC.

Flexible Integration

Existing applications used by the community can integrate with the Global Event Calendar, including community apps, practice tools, and regional websites.

Scalability

Works for a small local Ling with a few events per month, just as well as it works for major Gars with dozens of simultaneous activities.

Global Visibility

Practitioners anywhere in the world can discover events happening at any Gar or Ling, making it easier to plan visits and participate in teachings.

How Organizations Work

The Global Event Calendar uses an Organization model to keep different Gars and Lings separate while allowing global coordination.
